Dianne and Lorrie Hull’s classes offer intensive training in a broad spectrum of acting tools. The teaching includes techniques of:

Actors learn how to create a life for a character. This includes such specifics as:

The Actor’s Training includes coaching for specific auditions. Actors also have the opportunity to work with writers and directors.
For Directors and Writers
Directors are guided in all phases of directing. Writers work with actors and directors on their original material.
Private Coaching
Private coaching, at $85/hr., provides an opportunity for the actor to receive intensive, individual guidance for auditions or general instruction. Dianne and Lorrie work toward refining an actor’s performance to help ensure confidence and a positive outcome. Personal coaching is available daily.

All absences may be made up by attending a different class, but must be made up within the student’s tuition period (for example, within a 6 week or 12 week period)

Diane Hull
Known today as one of America’s distinguished character actresses, Dianne was introduced to audiences in Elia Kazan’s The Arrangement. Dianne’s long acting career includes starring and co-starring roles in Film, TV and Stage, including The Onion Field, The New Adventures of Pippi Longstocking, Aloha Bobby and Rose, Spielberg’s Amazing Stories and The Wonder Years, among many others. Lorrie Hull
A former University Professor, Lorrie Hull was the senior faculty member for Lee Strasberg for 12 years, she taught for five years for the American Film Institute’s Public Service Programs. As Strasberg’s senior faculty member, Lorrie was the only instructor chosen by Mr. Strasberg to teach his course, “Understanding of the Method.
In the fall of 1988, Lorrie, along with the Moscow Art Theatre Instructors, was chosen one of the worldwide experts to teach at the International Stanislavski Conference at the Pompidou Center in Paris.
Dr. Hull has conducted acting and directing seminars and workshops worldwide: in Sweden, Monaco (for Princess Grace), France, New York University, Northwestern U., Yale U., U. of Wisconsin and UCLA, among numerous universities, as well as in New York, Minneapolis, New Orleans, Des Moines, Kalamazoo and Omaha.
Lorrie is an award winning director and has been a member of the Actors Studio Directors’ and Writers’ Units, as well as a member of the Ensemble Studio Theatre.
She has also been an acting coach for motion picture and television productions, having coached for Lorimar, Warner Brothers, and MGM Studios.
Lorrie’s book is in libraries around the world and is used as a textbook by colleges, universities and other professional teachers in New York, Los Angeles, at RADA and elsewhere in the U.S. and abroad.
The new video and DVD, “The Method”, featuring Lorrie and her students, is being sold worldwide.
Lorrie Hull studied with Lee Strasberg and Herbert Berghof. She has been on the faculty of Ripon college and the University of Wisconsin, and was a founder and first president of the North American Regional Theatre Alliance.
She was a delegate and workshop leader to International Theatre Conferences in Sweden, Monaco, Canada and the U.S.
Lorrie has two children, Dianne of Santa Monica, California, and Donald of Harahan, Louisiana. Her greatest joys are her grand-children, Emily and Evan Hull of Harahan, Louisiana, and Brendan Gillespie of Santa Monica, California.
William Smithers and Lorrie were married November 25, 1995 and live in Santa Barbara, California. Lorrie continues her teaching with daughter Dianne in Santa Monica.

McConaughey named People’s hottest bachelor
Matthew McConaughey, who is regularly photographed without a shirt exercising on the beach, was named “bachelor of the year” by People magazine on Thursday.
McConaughey, 37, topped the annual list of the hottest bachelors that also included actors Zach Braff and Jake Gyllenhaal, Olympic skater Apolo Anton Ohno, singer Justin Timberlake and Britain’s Prince William and Prince Harry.
McConaughey, whose film credits include “The Wedding Planner” and “Failure to Launch,” said he rarely wears a shirt because he enjoys warm weather, the summer, and staying fit.
“What better way to enjoy it than at the beach, where few people wear shirts?” he told the magazine.
“I don’t really have a workout regimen I follow. I just live my life. My goal is to break a sweat each day.”
And does he really live in a $65,000 Airstream RV?
“Yes, the Airstream is my home, and I have two more being designed,” said the actor, who has been seen with a number of women since splitting up from actress Penelope Cruz last year.
Last year Taylor Hicks, winner of the TV singing contest “American Idol,” was named as People magazine’s hottest bachelor.

It’s funny I woke up without my alarm clock ringing today…ooh..I know why,I promised myself I’d go jogging today. Okay…I’ll do it,I promise…today I will…I haven’t been out jogging for a week or so…I hate waking up in the morning.
I get out of bed,I can’t eat a thing,I read somewhere in a magazine that if you want to burn more fat you’re not supposed to eat before your cardio training…so…no food for me at this time of the morning,just some drink,and that’s all…I finally get my gear on,running shoes and everything,and I decide to get out of the house.My boyfriend comes from work,but there’s so little conversation between the two of us,he hasn’t slept all night and I just woke up…so…guess we’ll talk later!ok….off we go…
I get my cd player from the car and I head for the park…Everything’s still in a daze,there’s the sun shining,but a soft morning breeze is blowing…The traffic’s already crazy!Thank God I’m not in my car!People are passing me by,as they hurry to get to their offices,kids are going to school,old people come from the marketplace and some head for the park to take out their nephews on a stroller ride.I start admiring the view in the park…the wild ducks on the water are swimming along with their newborns…this is about the cutest image I get this morning…I have to start running….I am running running running….other joggers are passing me by,I bet they’re all wondering why I’m running so slow,or they’re probably make fun of me somehow…men are probably kidding about the size of my rear end….stop it!It can’t be true!It’s just in my imagination,people are minding their own business…I can’t do it..I’ve been running for almost 15 minutes and I already can’t do it anymore…What am I?Some kind of idiot?Everyone else is running like one park tour at least…I can’t anymore,I’m out of breath,my feet seem like melting into the ground…damn…I’m gonna stop…no ,I can’t stop,I have to run,I have to keep running…no..I can’t do it…

I keep yelling inside my head as I go back home…I know I have to do some arm training and some abs training….as well…It goes a little bit smoother…but maybe I’m not forcing myself enough!…damn…I’m no good at physical exercise!Ok!So I’m done with that for the day!I want to take a shower,but it seems that the water company is against me today as well,there’s no hot water…damn!I’ll wait…wait…and be patient…
I’m hungry…but I can’t eat,no Sir!I’m not SUPPOSED to eat until 2 hours have passed from the training,otherwise I’ll put even more pounds on me!So I get to the computer,I try to occupy my mind with something…look for some acting jobs,for some translating jobs…for any jobs…I’m a little bit short of money this week…so I’d better find something!
Oh,there’s a friend calling me on the ym,he says there’s a new audition at some theatre… I should go,but …of course,as always,I have nothing prepared.I don’t have a monologue,I can’t remember any poems,so….should I go or not?That is the question…
I can’t go,I won’t go just to make a fool of myself in front of some big shot theatre director again!That’s it ,I’m not an actress,I don’t know any monologues so I won’t go…this is all stupid…
No,I have to go,I will go and tell him that I don’t have any monologue because whenever I am trying to find one I can’t seem to find the right one,the one that suits me!The one that represents me!Daaamn!I’m gonna go make a fool of myself….
I get into my car,I’m going!I’m definetely going.So what if I’m not on the list?I’ll just go and get myself on that list and I’m going to go in there and say what I have to say to make myself noticed…somehow…I have to do it….ok…there I go…

Vince Vaughn’s show

Indie distributor Picturehouse has picked up domestic rights to the performance documentary “Vince Vaughn’s Wild West Comedy Show: 30 Days & 30 Nights — Hollywood to the Heartland.”
The film follows Vaughn as he leads a team of unknown comics on a monthlong tour across the U.S. In addition to showcasing stage performances with such guests as Justin Long and Dwight Yoakam, the film takes a behind-the-scenes look at the lives of Vaughn and comedians Bret Ernst, Ahmed Ahmed, Sebastian Maniscalco and John Caparulo.
It was directed by Ari Sandel, who won an Oscar this year for the live-action short film “West Bank Story.”
“Wild West” was originally picked up seven months ago by the Weinstein Co., which had tentatively slated the film for a spring release. The studio put it back on the market a month ago, because Vaughn said he and Weinstein “had a different vision of how to market and release the film.”
Vaughn said of the film: “It’s a comedy, but also a road movie. It’s not like a traditional film. If it hasn’t been done before, how do you present it? There was no fighting or arguing — we were just not seeing eye to eye.”
New Line Cinema, which owns Picturehouse with HBO, nabbed all international rights. A source close to the deal said the new purchase was slightly below $2.5 million, with a larger allocation of the money put toward marketing.
Picturehouse plans to release the film in limited runs around the U.S. early next year.

Kim Basinger hires bodyguard for her daughter
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Actress Kim Basinger has hired a bodyguard for her 11-year-old daughter after a voice-mail tirade by her father, actor Alec Baldwin, was made public last week, Basinger’s spokeswoman said on Monday.
The divorced couple’s bitter six-year custody battle over their only daughter, Ireland, burst into the open last Thursday when the celebrity Web site TMZ.com posted a recording of a blistering phone message Baldwin had left the child, calling her a “rude, thoughtless little pig.”
The 49-year-old actor, who co-stars as a venal, egocentric TV executive on the NBC sitcom “30 Rock,” said on the tape that he was furious at not being able to reach his daughter for a prearranged telephone conversation, and threatened to fly out from New York City “to straighten your ass out.”
Baldwin later apologized for his temper with a statement on his own Web site, and accused his ex-wife of leaking the voice mail tape to the media in defiance of a court order sealing material related to their custody proceedings.
But Basinger’s spokeswoman, Annett Wolf, issued a statement on Monday denying the actress released the voice mail and said the recording was “not sealed under a court order.”
“Kim did hire security in response to the media attention on her daughter in order to allow Ireland to maintain her regular routine and activities uninterrupted,” Wolf said.
Her statement added that Basinger hoped Baldwin would “finally address his unstable and irrational behavior so he, at some point, can potentially create a relationship with his daughter.”
TMZ reported that a Los Angeles County Superior Court commissioner temporarily suspended Baldwin’s visitation rights last week after hearing the tape.
Representatives for Basinger, 53, who won the Oscar for her supporting role in the 1997 film “L.A. Confidential,” declined to comment on that report, and Baldwin’s lawyer was not immediately available for comment.
The couple married in 1993, and she filed for divorce in 2001. The divorce was granted the following year, but they have continued to fight in court over custody and other issues.
